DAE 1272e Preamplifier - Preamp

DAE 1272e preamplifier recreates the unmistakable sound of the Neve 1272. Class A solid state preamplifier with Oep A262A3E input transformer and DAE Lo 1188 output (transformer with the same technical characteristics as the classic Marinair Lo 1166). It has soft and medium-low treble of great presence and definition. Its circuit is basically the same as that used in the Neve modules, the BA 183, but it replaces the old three-stage rotary wrench with a modern internal electronic key that minimizes the noise produced by the "jumps" in the gain regulation . It offers a sound indistinguishable from the original Neve 1272 at an affordable price.

FEATURES

High gain

DAE 1272e preamp can achieve up to 70 dB gain. This is more than necessary for any of the possible applications, especially with modern high performance condenser microphones.

Staggered gain control

12-position rotary knob that allows precise gain adjustments in steps of 5dB, from 15dB up to 70dB.

Volume control

Volume control with high quality metal potentiometer. You can combine this control with different gain levels until you get the "coloring" you want in the signal.

Phantom power

With this switch you will activate the 48v required to power the condenser microphones.

Phase inversion

It reverses the polarity of the signal. This will be very useful when you need to make stereo recordings by combining one of the DAE 1272e channels with a channel from another unit.

Vintage Aesthetics and XLR Connectors

Sturdy metal case with front and chicken head style knobs. It has high-quality input-output XLR connectors on the back of it.

Ground connection

Grounding at the back of the cabinet to ensure maximum user protection.

Power supply

Includes external 24 VAC power supply, 2 amps. The external power supply will prevent interaction with other audio circuits and transformers.
